Guidelines

Although the Holy Spirit is sufficient to guide you in all truth, the following are some principles and guidelines  that you may find helpful in facilitating your fellowship group:

bulletConfidentiality: "What's said here stays here!"
bulletFreedom: "Everyone is encouraged, but no one is forced to participate."
bulletResponsibility: "You'll only get out of it, what you put into it!"
bulletUnconditional Acceptance: "We are all in process."
bulletRespect for personal boundaries: "We are to treat others as we want to be treated, with respect!"

Others have found it helpful and transformational to adopt some of the guidelines from Christian 12 Step groups. Here are a few examples you may want to consider:

bulletWe respect the confidentiality and anonymity of each person: “What is said here stays here!”
bulletWe avoid “crosstalk” (interrupting out of turn) and offering unsolicited advice and counseling during the meeting.
bulletWe provide each other personal support and accountability (grace, truth and time).
bulletWe provide safety for honest sharing of personal thoughts and ideas.
bulletEveryone is invited to share, but no one is obligated to do so.
bulletLimit your sharing to 5 to 10 minutes and focus on recent experiences and events, sharing your personal experience, strength and hope.
bullet Allow everyone in the group to share once before you share a second time.
